Hydrocarbons to Electrons: The Future of the Oil and Gas Industry
This is a two day non technical course for staff that have to consider the future of the energy and oil and gas industries.
It is vitally important that oil and gas companies truly begin to consider themselves as energy companies. Changing your name does make you an energy company. Whilst both oil and gas demand will continue to grow in the foreseeable future, the energy market share of oil will decline and hydrocarbons in general face environmental pressures.
Electrification has been an ongoing trend for decades. The electrification of transport is now well underway, and battery technology makes both electric vehicles and renewable energy increasingly significant factors for the future. Electrification also means energy is increasingly digital in nature. Combining the correct use of digital technology with a fully electric energy market will be essential to maximise the profitability of energy companies.
This course will give you an overview of all relevant technologies and consider how they might be combined to create the energy companies of the future.
Key Learning Outcomes
- The changing role of oil and gas in a sustainable energy future
- Electrification of transport
- Renewable energy technologies
- Practical digital technology applications
- Integrated energy companies
